Purple Wedding Big Bang

Crazy. The past few weeks have been crazy. NO, the past month has been really crazy! A lot of things happened, and believe me, they happened all too fast. But to me, they’re nothing but wonderful, thrilling, amazing! There were ups, there were downs, but God has been really, really and I mean REALLY faithful and gracious to me.

So yeah, I have a lot of catching up to do and I hope my busy schedule permits me to. But for tonight, let me present you the biggest event of my October 2016, the Purple Wedding I have been talking about in my previous Journaling Series of posts, which I failed to complete by the way. But who cares, right? I’ll just lay them all out here, in ONE BIG BANG!

First, a quick recap… This year, 2 of my old, as in from Grade School, friends tied the knot! Their love was something that went beyond borders. Something that overcame distance. Nothing short of a fairy tale coming true. Love was in the air, it was aromatic! And I have been blessed to be a part of it. And until now, and I guess I will forever be, thankful for their patience, understanding and appreciation of me.

Next, a quick rundown of my artsy craftsy ekek for their wedding:

1. Journaling Cards – I created a series of travel and LDR themed cards for their wedding, supposedly to use among the gallery and displays. Each card is 4×6 and primarily in teal and purple colors.

2. Felt Bouquet – a gift for the bride, used for their prenup photo and video shoot. Ayiii. I was so kilig! ❤

3. The Backdrop – well, the stage accents. We used paper plane garlands, big suitcases, paper rosettes and the like. This is my first time doing something like this and the couple has been very understanding of my lapses. I really, seriously do pray that I’d be given another chance to make it up to them. A child dedication perhaps? 🙂

4. Giveaways!!! – One of my favorites on this project. We created 2 sets – Large Suitcases with a Travel Kit for the Principal Sponsors and Tiny Suitcases for the guests.

For the Principal Sponsors, I especially created the lotion and alcohol, and Airplane and Tags using shrink plastic. My mother covered the suitcase paper mache, and assembled everything together. (Don’t you just love it when you’re mom is in on your thing too?)

And of course, for the guests, we prepared M&Ms and TicTacs on small paper suitcases. (Coz you know, Mitch & Mon’s Mint to be!) I cut and designed the suitcases but as you may already have guessed, my mother folded and put everything together. Again. :p

5. The Message Board – Still travel inspired, I made fabric covered cork board and tags where guests can leave their messages for the couple. Can you see how much the kids flocked over this board? They were actually the ones who placed the photos there. Quite the geniuses, don’t you think?

6. Accent Centerpieces – For this one, we used the default flowers provided by their florist, then added display items (travel souvenirs) of the groom’s mother, tea lights, and of course, our purple luggage as carefully covered by my mother, and table names designed and printed by yours truly.

7. The Gallery – special thanks to sis Eden Gomez of Craft Revive Piece for the woodworks. We setup a gallery to showcase the couple’s travel photos with a highlight on Boracay, Philippines where the proposal happened. Ayiiii. ❤
